In the fifth Health Research from Home webinar, we take a closer look at how health research using smartphones and wearables is being delivered in the pharmaceutical industry and academia. Valentin Hamy, Director of Digital Biomarkers Data Analytics at GSK will share his perspective on how technology can be used to support drug development. He’ll demonstrate the practicalities of this through the WeaRAble-PRO Study which looked at the feasibility of collecting data from patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis using an iPhone and Apple Watch. He’ll also talk about the potential of combining small and large data sets to develop a richer view of what smartphone and wearable technology data can tell us.
Also presenting is Aiden Acquah, a final year PhD student from the University of Oxford. He’ll share his research in the use of wrist worn accelerometery to predict Parkinson’s disease.
