Videos / On AI and Clinical Safety (31:41)

Risk and opportunity abound with digital technologies and even more so with various forms or “artificial intelligence”. It really is the wild west right now in health and care so buyer beware would perhaps be a sensible position to take although scepticism is always nicely paired with curiosity! Clinical safety frameworks and regulators are playing catch up with multiple potential models for evaluation, regulation and implementation on a background of variable adoption for more traditional software.
We also shouldn’t forget good old fashioned “biological intelligence” as AI and BI (not the other type) are often closer in terms of role while being distinct and hopefully complementary when compared to traditional computing applications where it is very much slave/master (and sometimes I wonder which way round that is as an end user at least).
Looking forward to sharing some early thoughts on how this is shaping up from the perspective of a user/assessor rather than a developer/implementer.
