About the webinar: If you are an R user, then you’ve probably been using R Markdown. And probably you loved R also because of R Markdown. But since July 2022 there is a new publishing system that you can use. It’s name is Quarto. What’s the difference? First, unlike R Markdown, Quarto is not a package, but it is a stand alone application. Therefore you can use it outside the R world, for example with Python or Julia. So it can support you better if you or your team are using more than one language. Also, if your preferred IDE is not RStudio, then you’ll find that Quarto works well also with VS Code, Jupyter, Neovim or any other text editor. And there is already plenty of guidance for all of this. For the perspective of R Users, Quarto solves some problems and adds new functionalities. R Markdown users will find that they won’t need to install additional packages for specific publications (like Bookdown for books, Blogdown for websites and blogs, Xaringan for slideshows). Moreover Quarto keeps the syntax consistent in all publishing formats.
