Videos / HDR UK Applied Analytics Webinar: Diagnosis and prognosis of suspected myocardial infarction - Nick Mills and Dorien Kimenai (50:20)

Novel insights on the diagnosis and prognosis of patients with suspected myocardial infarction in practice using High-STEACS trial and routinely collected health care data - The High-STEACS trial was the first randomized trial that evaluated the impact of adopting the Universal Definition of Myocardial Infarction and sex-specific 99th centile diagnostic threshold in practice. The introduction of high-sensitivity cardiac troponin testing has identified more patients with myocardial injury and or infarction, but whether this has improved long-term clinical outcomes remained uncertain. Professor Mills will provide an overview on the impact of implementing a high-sensitivity cardiac troponin assay on long-term outcomes in patients presenting with suspected myocardial infarction. Dr. Kimenai will provide an overview of the application of the Universal Definition of Myocardial Infarction in practice across different health care settings. (Professor Nick Mills and Dr Dorien Kimenai) 09/11/2022 Q & A session - Professor Nick Mills, Dr Dorien Kimenai, and Professor Bertil Lindahl (Uppsala University, Sweden)
