The BHF Data Science Centre is a partnership between Health Data Research UK and the British Heart Foundation that works to deliver the data and data science needed to address some of the most important challenges in heart and circulatory disease research. The Centre works with a wide range of partners including patients, public, clinicians, researchers and NHS organisations to help them carry out research using health data into the causes, prevention and treatment of all diseases of the heart and circulation (such as heart attacks, stroke and vascular dementia). The BHF Data Science Centre holds a monthly webinar to provide updates about our work. This month we are pleased to welcome our Programme Manager Jackie MacArthur and Associate Director Michelle Williams who gave an overview of the main findings from a recent survey in which we asked the public their views on future cardiovascular research.
Jackie and Michelle were joined by PPIE representatives Phil Blakelock & Julian Meldrum who discussed what the findings mean for cardiovascular research, how patients and the public can be better embedded in research, and explore some next steps. If you would like a copy of the slide deck, please email bhfdsc@hdruk.ac.uk to request.
