Dr. Diana van der Plaat is a Lead Epidemiologist at Our Future Health, UK, where she works on large-scale population data to improve disease prevention and early detection. She holds degrees in Biotechnology and Molecular Life Sciences, and completed her PhD in (genetic) epidemiology at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands, focusing on COPD in never-smokers. She has worked internationally, including at INSERM in Paris, France, and at Imperial College London, UK, as a RESPIRE3 fellow. Her research has explored genetic, environmental and occupational risk factors for respiratory disease, as well as COVID-19 outcomes in healthcare workers. Her current work focuses on making longitudinal health data available for research to better understand disease risk and improve population health.
