Learning Health Systems
Learning Health Systems embed continuous improvement into the process of delivering healthcare. This pathway brings key topics together to provide an introduction to Learning Health Systems.
By definition a Learning Health System embeds continuous improvement into the process of delivering health care. To achieve this requires a range of skills, competencies and health data science knowledge.
The course has been curated with subject matter experts across numerous Higher Education institutions, those in clinical practice, public and patient contributor, NHS England, HDR UK and The Health Foundation.
The purpose of this pathway is to create a single place of easily digestible learning resources that cover a variety of topics to help you design, develop and implement a learning health system. It includes course materials, case studies, guidance and an immersive simulation of a learning health system.
These cover relevant topics such as interoperability, working with data, socio-technical frameworks to help manage challenges when embedding data-driven approaches and insight on different tools and technologies. In addition, to help you bring these concepts to life, there are real world case studies from Health Foundation report on Learning Heath Systems.
By the end of this course learners will have an understanding of how to design, develop and implement a learning heath system.
This course is designed for anyone with an interest in continuous improvement in the delivery of healthcare. This course is appropriate for all career stages and roles.
